Who We Are
Muttluks is a proudly Canadian company founded by compassionate animal lover Marianne Bertrand. Muttluks began in 1994 as a home based business making and selling dog boots. The rest as they say is ‘history’. The company has grown to an 11,000 square foot production facility in Toronto, Ontario. The company’s product range has expanded considerably over the years and now includes dog boots, dog coats , pet beds and paw balms.
The strength of any company is its people and its attitude. The Muttluks team, affectionately known as The Muttluks Mushers, is led by owner and founder, Marianne Bertrand, the “Sherpaw”. Other team members include Chief Central Paw, Deal Digger, Dogma, Techno Mutt and the Money Mutt.
Passion Statement
Muttluks was built on passion and integrity; as a result Muttluks has a Passion Statement rather than a mission statement. The Muttluks Passion Statement is “We are passionate about our planet. We foster Zenformation and Zenlightenment with Zenergy and Zenthusiasm.” The corporate tag line “Integrity at Work” reflects the company’s compassion and commitment to quality and authenticity. The tremendous goodwill in the market place toward Muttluks is a direct reflection of the authenticity of the company’s “Integrity at Work”.
Ground Zero - Muttluks Helps New York
Muttluks has long been known for its altruistic actions and integrity. In 2002, Marianne Bertrand, the founder of Muttluks, was awarded the “Be kind to Animals” Award by the Toronto Humane Society for Muttluks’ donation of over 850 sets of boots to the 300 Search and Rescue dogs at Ground Zero on 9/11. The Muttluks shipment to Ground Zero made history as it was the only item to cross the Canadian/US border on a day the border between the two countries was closed. Today, Muttluks dog boots are worn by working dogs around the world.
Woof Wish Program
Muttluks is proud to support and donate to over 50 pet charities annually. Internal initiatives such as the Muttluks Woof Wish Program provide Muttluks products for working dogs and/or disabled dogs at a reduced price.
Eco-Attitude
Muttluks products have Eco-Attitude, by incorporating environmentally friendly manufacturing processes or materials wherever possible. Muttluks does “what it can where it can” says Marianne Bertrand, “Sherpaw”and owner of the company. The new Muttluks Pet Beds are proudly made in Canada with Canadian developed Bio-foam technology. Bio-foam incorporates biodegradable and renewable plant and soy based materials within the foam production.
